J and D’s wedding was classic and elegant with refined vintage touches defining their wedding style.

D wore a customised Malachi Empire ivory wedding gown with heavy lace and tulle by Adelaide designer Sok Hoffman and was gifted a gorgeous Tiffany & Co pendant by her gorgeous groom on the wedding morning – lucky lady!

A traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony was a lovely nod to D’s heritage and what a beautiful and sacred space to say ‘I do’.

Following the wedding ceremony, we took the opportunity to take wedding portraits at locations that were significant and meaningful to this lovely couple. We spent some of our time at Partridge House in the gardens and courtyard and not far from there at the historic Sacred Heart College.

As the cool Autumn evening set in, we made our way through the colourful Adelaide Hills to Glen Ewin Estate where the Reception was held at The Gatehouse. As the sun went down I took my favourite shots of the day at the iconic old gate and rustic fence – set off by the rich Autumn colours and textures and soft golden hour light.

Enjoy the highlights and if you are looking for the perfect photographer for your Adelaide Hills wedding, please do get in touch!

Gorgeous high-school sweethearts Adam and Claire’s Barossa Wedding was held at Saltram Wine Estate last Autumn. Their wedding style had many cute and quirky vintage touches, including some hand-made elements at the Reception. Little pops of colour were strategically incorporated into their day including Claire’s to die for blue suede Salvatore Ferragamo shoes, vampy red lipstick and flowers in the wedding bouquets.

Mother nature forecast rain but that didn’t dampen spirits for a moment! The ceremony was brought indoors to the candle-lit Barrel Hall which provided a beautifully intimate and cosy feel.

The rain held out as we ventured around Saltram and an adjoining property in Angaston for the Bridal creative session and the overcast weather led to moody skies and a richness in the tones which I really love working with!

It was such a pleasure to work with Adam and Claire, their easygoing and fun outlook on everything made for an amazing day all round.

Autumn is multi coloured beauty at it’s best and this is the inspiration I drew on when putting together an inspirational Autumn tablescape. I sourced the florals from Viva the Flower Store and selected a beautiful range of blooms and foilage; magnolia, cymbidium orchid, after dark foliage, red leucadendron and monbretia berry. I used the flowers to create a full and textural table runner with an arrangement of red leucadendron and magnolia leaf in a deep green vase. The effect is rich and inviting, setting the scene for an Autumn feast. A successful tablescape not only looks the part but it creates an ambience that makes you want to sit down and enjoy whatever is being put in front of you. This style incorporated Autumn colours, some seasonal figs on the table and most importantly, texture and contrast including velvet and natural textiles. The gold cutlery gave it a hint of warmth and elegance synonymous with the season.

In Autumn, the morning and nights are cooler and the trees are starting to change colour. It’s the perfect time to have your friends and family around for an Autumn feast. We know the food will be amazing, but how do you make this feast LOOK divine? Below I’ve shared 5 tips to guide you in creating your very own perfect Autumn Tablescape:

C R E A T I N G  A  P E R F E C T  A U T U M N  T A B L E S C A P E

– incorporate the ever changing colours of the season – this will be your palette

– always use fresh flowers on the table

– add in some texture

– use quality linen napkins

– keep it simple, stick to one theme – try not to over do it

Enjoy styling and entertaining this Autumn!

BLOG POST_1_COVER

I regularly remind myself of just how very lucky I am to capture so many beautiful weddings. Sharing in these moments with my couples and being entrusted to capture them is an honour I do not take for granted. After months of planning and preparation it makes me smile when a couple’s wedding day arrives. I get a glimpse of them in their finery before everyone else, witness them making promises to each other from a privileged vantage point and am able to watch them revel in spending time with their loved ones from near and far.

Tonight, I’m sharing a few favourite images from S and L’s wedding by the beach. These two are the most genuine, humble and lovely people you’ll meet in life and it was my pleasure to work alongside them to photograph their wedding.

Every wedding is unique, special and gorgeous with it’s own tale to tell at the end of it. This is no truer than S and L’s Spring beach wedding. The wild and woolly beach weather meant that we had to think on our feet and alter our session locations a little to cater to the elements. We totally worked with what we were given; using the wind to create epic veil moments, to let dresses flow free and as the little leaks of sunlight came out from behind the storm clouds we were at the ready to make the most of them throughout the shots also.

No matter what Mother Nature throws at you for your wedding day – rain hail or shine – run with it and don’t get discouraged, a positive attitude is key! The results can be sublime and your photos will be like no others!

Enjoy these images and if you are looking for a wedding photographer and like my work, I’d love to hear from you! I have some availability left for 2017 and more flexibility through 2018.
